Go away Nuro Virus!

Oh the stomach bug made its first appearance in the Fletcher household. A girlfriend of mine said it best, you are not initiated into mom club, until you have been thrown-up on. Oh boy and was I thrown up on. The poor little peanut started getting sick on Sunday night and not even Elmo or Dora could make her feel better. Last night she had not kept down any liquids, so that led us to go to Beaumont Hospital Children's ER.

I can not say enough positive things about Beaumont. The staff was wonderful and treated us like royalty. Finally at 3am after an IV and some zofran we were good to go. Elise slept until 10:30am and got to munch on Popsicles and massive amounts of pedialyte. She even told us no more juice (which is huge for our little juice addict!).

Hopefully, my 13 loads of laundry and bleaching of toys & other household items has given this nuro virus the boot.

Here is our poor little princess with the IV in her arm and enjoying her Popsicle :-(

Dear Santa...

I would like a playhouse and a baby. I have been a very good girl. See you on Christmas Eve.

Love,

Elise

10 on Tuesday: The Turkey Day Wrap Up edition

1. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week in OH-IO. Right, hun? I don't think poor Mark can take anymore Michigan-OSU jokes.

2. The week started off with a Ohio Moms playgroup. Lots of fun catching up with old friends and meeting new friends. The best is that I had a little chat with Elise about sharing and listening before we got to our friend's house. Not only did she share and listen, she mauled, I mean held the babies.

3. A quick trip with Santa to let him know that she wants a playhouse and a baby for Christmas. Oh and apparently Mommy and Daddy want a playhouse and a baby too.

4. Arriving at Aunt Lin's is always fun and the wine was aflowing. Oh and the homemade sausage. YUM! YUM! YUM!

5. And we can't forget about my mom's homemade apple pie. It is so darn good, I am thinking about making it for playgroup next week. MMMM!

6. Friday led us to the Zoo. Oh and my mom stealing some guy's french fries. Just kidding, Mom. But that was hilarious. By the way the zoo was busy, apparently other people wanted to walk off their turkey pounds too.

7. Friday night the gang went to Uncle Greg's bball game and then back to celebrate Neil's 24th birthday. Insanity reigned.

8. Great Lakes Brewery is amazing. If you have not had your Christmas Ale yet for the season...RUN to the nearest grocery store.

9. Catching up with my Aunts and Uncles and fun lovin' cousins is always a good time. Even though the other team was stacked for the game. So unfair. haha!

10. Remember to count your blessings. We have had a very up and down year. This thanksgiving I am so thankful for everything that has happened to us good and bad. However, most of all I am thankful for all the support our friends and family have given us. Thank you guys. We love you all.

Now here are a few pictures...

Look a likes...

I can not take credit for this, because Debi is the one who pointed this out. Given our political alliance...it is too funny. Do you think they look a like? haha!

Random Conversations with E....

I am putting her to bed and she is such a dwaddler when she doesn't want to do anything. We say our prayers, I read her Fancy Nancy, sing her lullabye and put her to bed...all of the sudden she speaks up. Mommy, rock you. Sing Jesus Loves Me. Um, how can I say no to that?!?!!? So guess who got rocked to sleep?

She also repeats EVERYTHING we say. So we have to be very careful. However, it is very cute when I say, "Be careful Elisey." and I hear her little voice say, "Be careful Elisey."

Elise also likes to follow our two cats around to see if she can catch them being naughty. If they are doing something bad, she yells at them, "Oh KITTTTTTTTTTTTTTIE".

E: "Have you seen Daddy?"

Me: "No, Daddy is at work."

E: Daddy at work.

Me: What do you think Daddy does at work?

E: Tells jokes.

Me: Oh and what else?

E: Tells lady no rip books.

Me: Laughing, and...

E: Counts to 13.

I know I am in trouble with this cutie pie.... :)

The princess and her tea party!

I had the honor tonight to dine with Elmo, Washcloth Elmo, Blankie, Baby Apple and Miss Elise. Her imagination is just amazing. Our cruisine was ice and the beverage of choice was cider juice. Elmo and Elise were dressed to the nines, while Blankie, Washcloth Elmo, and Apple only had an array of bibs to choose from. The party was simply divine and I look forward to my next invite to Princess Elise's tea party. For now you will have to settle for event pictures from the ever present Paparazzi.

Spooky Fun!

Minnie Mouse and the two Cleveland Indians fans had a wonderful Halloween! We started Halloween day off at Elise's school for picture day! Funny, how times change all the parents were bribing smiles out of their precious 2 year olds by promising them a trip to Starbucks.
After a quick trip to Starbucks (oh yes, I was one of those moms. What can I say, Elise is addicted to their vanilla milk) we headed home for lunch and a nap before the Halloween Party. Elise was so excited to go to a Halloween party with her buddies. While eating healthy food at the party, Mommy & Daddy partook in some yummy food, beer, and fun friends. It was a lot of fun.
After the Halloween party, Mark & I settled in and finally drank wine from our trip in 2005 from England. Let's just say the Mead did not age well from the 1500's. Then we partook in our Halloween tradition of watching a scary movie, The Others. We love our Friday Night Movie Nights...I know we are sounding 50 instead of in our 20's/30's. :) Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween weekend like we did!

Halloween Fun!

Today was Elise's party at her school. She was so excited to wear her Minnie outfit. She talked all throughout breakfast about how she was going to be Minnie and wear her ears (um, she did not wear her ears!). At school, they had a lot of fun games and sang a pumpkin song for all the moms, dad, aunts, & grandmas. Elise didn't want to go home, because it was so much fun getting candy and eating pure sugar!

It's the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...Come inside. Oh Come inside...

Elise went to her first kids concert on Sunday at the Palace. All of her buddies from Playhouse Disney came for a music party! Elise had a BLAST singing the hotdog song and screaming Einsteins the entire time.

Now, she keeps asking me if she is going to see Mickey. Silly girl.

We are back...

Yes, we were on a bit of a blogging break, but we are back! New blog, new photos, new adventures with our toddler & two black cats.

The next entry will have more pictures, I promise, but for now this Mommy needs her chai tea latte...someone was up at 5:45am this morning.
