Our lil' cassanova

William has learned the cutest little trick! If you tell William to give a kiss, he opens his mouth wide and slobbers   kisses you on the cheek and then laughs hysterically. I think I may be in trouble when this one hits puberty.

Food!

A little background...back when I was planning our wedding, I was on the Knot.com & met some wonderful women who have become some of my closest friends. We are doing a Wednesday weekly blog round up....

Food. Glorious Food. Back when Elise was small, I had grand visions of her loving all different kinds of food. She would be adventerous like me not like her picky father (who hates cooked tomatoes!?!?). We started off good, she loved squash, sweet potatos, broccoli, peas, apples, pineapples, chicken, beef, noodles, etc.

Then we hit 3. If it were up to Chef Elise, she would eat princess fruit snacks, goldfish, chocolate milk with a side of broccoli.

However, when push comes to shove she will eat new things. Some of her healthier favorites are meatballs, cottage cheese & applesauce, fruit smoothies, mac n' cheese, watermelon, strawberries, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, cooked carrots, tomatoes (raw and cooked-yay!), oatmeal, blueberries, fish sticks, waffles, yogurt, turkey dogs, and pb & j.

Elise's not so faves include chicken (which we make her eat anyway), peas, and lunchmeat.

However, I want her to try new things so this month, I started food of the week. At first we tried cucumbers, those were a hit and then cooked carrots (since this was a fave back in the day) and another hit!  Last week we tried starfruit, it was a total bust. Neither Elise nor I liked it. Tomorrow is Kiwi day...Anyone else have suggestions on fun food we can try?

William, well he likes breast milk because that is all he knows. However, I see him eyeing my plate and giving me puppy dog looks ;)

ETA: Kiwi was a HUGE hit!!! :) In fact she cleaned me out of all the kiwis I bought! Going to add that to the grocery list for next week too. :)

Elise Gems

Elise is hilarious and you never know what is going to come out of her mouth...here are a few of our conversations lately...

E: Mommy, I want to put lipstick on Will.
Me: No, honey you can't, Will is a boy.
E: Can you return him and get a girl, so I can put lipstick on her?

Me: Mommy is a Republican.
E: I am a Registered Princess.

E: Moooooooooooomy, William took off his antler on his cootie.
Me: Well, honey, he doesn't understand how to play cooties, he is a baby.
E: Well, if he wants to play, he has to follow the rules.

E: Mommy, Will said I can play with his blanket.
(Looks at Will)
E: What, what's that Will, I can play with your toys too. Oh what a nice brother.

Love this girl and her spunk!

Mrs. McSweeney's Famous Brownies

My friend, Kelly, made us these brownies last February and they have become a Fletcher family favorite!! So easy and only 100 calories per brownie!
All you need is:
One box of Brownie Mix
One can of Black Beans

Puree the black beans with water until it becomes a paste, add to brownie mix and bake like usual. You will end up with the yummiest (most fiber packed) brownies in the world! Even picky, Mark loves them!!

Chocolate Covered Helper is optional:

My little man is growing up...

I finally gave in, William is in his own room for the first time ever. I miss my little buddy right next to me in the bassinet. I am so nervous about how he is going to do and have already checked in on him 3 times in an hour...let's hope for a good first night in his baseball room :)

William is 3 months old (a bit late!)

Littlest Fletch checking in....
I have had an exciting start to 2010, because I am now lifting my head up on the ground and finally have settled into my "office" aka the exersaucer. My favorite toys are sophie the chewable giraffe, star light stacking toy, and pulling at Mommy's hair. I love to laugh at my sister as she puts Princess Barbies in my face. I think she is silly. Babbeling and laughing is how I spend my days, only crying when I am hungry or super tired, but if I am super tired Mommy & Daddy just put me in my man cave...aka my carseat. I love being 3 months old.

As for stats, Mommy did the unofficial scale weigh in (I will not disclose Mommy's weight), but I am about 12.5 lbs.

Love,
William

Olympics here we come!!

Elise is obsessed with the Olympics. I am an avid watcher of the Today Show (aka I go through withdrawl if I don't get my daily dose of Matt Lauer.) and they have been promoting the Olympics like no tomorrow. Every day Elise asks me, Mommy, do the UMP-E-LIPICS (Olympics) start today!?!?!

Anyway the event she is most obsessed with is iceskating. She pretends to ice skate all the time. She will put on her pretend ice skates and skate around the house.

We decided to have her do the real thing...now Mark and I have not skated in at least 10 years, but since I had the most senior experience, I got to put on the skates with her.

At first, she was super timid on the ice, but by the 3rd time around the rink she got used to it and even got brave and let go of my hand for a few seconds. Ice skating was a success and I think we will go again real soon!

Ack...have 2 months really gone by?

So much has happened in a nutshell:
William got baptized.
Mark went to VA for Katie & Shane's wedding
OSU BEAT MICHIGAN AGAIN!!!! :)
Thanksgiving
Christmas Fun
Travelling for 2 weeks to NY and OH
and then 2010....

Here are some much needed updates on the kiddos.

Elise is doing great in preschool. We are so proud of her and her accomplishments. Right now she is working on mastering letter sounds and starting to spell everything. Her favorite words to spell are Elise, Mom, Dad and Will.

She also loves tap dance class and is doing wonderfully in listening to the teacher and keeping up with the older girls. Elise loves to have me put on princess music (aka the Disney Channel on Pandora) and dance around the room while trying to show William how to dance like a prince.

William is just a little love bug. Loves to be snuggled and laughs every time I sing. Hmmm, trying to tell me something William? He loves his exersaucer and is trying so hard to roll over while on tummy time. He is almost there....He just thinks his big sister is the greatest.

Yes, we have heard the empty promises before of me keeping up this blog, but this is one of my (late) new years resolutions.

Now for a picture....
